Camp Cherokee
Nestled in the remote mountains of Cleveland, Tennessee, students travel by chartered bus to camp where they are met by boat captains who will carry students across Lake Ocoee, to begin their week of adventure, excitement, and a life-changing encounter with God. This is a week filed with spiritual renewal, inner reflection, and restoration.
There are plenty of activities to keep students busy all week long including: morning devotions, Bible study break out sessions, topical group studies along with water activities like swimming, tubbing, and boating. A certified lifeguard is on duty as well as a camp nurse.
Did we mention music? We have a full band and special guest Camp speakers each year. Last, but not least, FOOD! Students will enjoy three delicious meals each day prepared by our own Mrs. Nancy! Trust me when I say delicious like Pileau, bar-b-que, French Toast Casserole and so much more! We end our week with a whitewater rafting adventure for students 7th grade and above.
The hidden beauty of Camp Cherokee is found in the opportunity for students to disconnect from the noise life can sometimes create through social media, and other online activities because there is no internet connection! This truly affords students the ability to be still and listen to the Holy Spirit speak through Bible studies, group sessions, worship, and yes, even the fun games and events too! Disconnecting from the phone allows students to build lasting friendships and to feel freedom to express their thoughts and be heard.
